Its exclusive protective pocket case has additives that inhibit the growth of bacteria and fungus. The pocket case also doubles as a calibration tool with a built in recalibration wrench. The temperature range of this thermometer is 0 degrees Fahrenheit to 220 degrees Fahrenheit.
