Expand the gate so that all four side bumpers are in contact with the sides of the opening. Rotate the locking handle and insert the handle tab into the slot that gives enough tension to secure the gate. The handle tab should click into place.
• When using your pet gate at the top of a staircase, always use the mounting hardware included. Fasten all gate hinges into solid materials only, following the instructions provided.
