Product Overview
Controls many diseases attacking citrus, fruits, nuts, vegetables and ornamentals. The control of diseases with fungicides is based on prevention. Plant surfaces must be completely covered with the fungicide to successfully prevent infection. Copper pesticides are considered preventative, not curative, of plant diseases. Use the highest indicated rate when disease incidence is high or expected to be, depending on rainfall and temperature. The lower rate is suitable for general preventive sprays under normal conditions. Since weather conditions and disease incidence vary, consult your Agricultural Extension Service for timing and initial application.

- Liqui-Cop is a liquid copper fungicide known as Copper-Count-N, which is widely used in agriculture for the prevention of diseases on a number of crops. Liqui-Cop is used on dormant almonds, apricots, cherries and peaches to control brown rot, blossom blight, shot hole, peach leaf curl and other diseases. It is used on citrus to control brown rot. It can also be used on vegetables and ornamentals to control various foliar diseases.
- Liqui-Cop is a gel formulation. It is sprayed on, providing a protective coating of copper ions to protect the tree from disease infection. On stone fruits, it is applied during the dormant period to give disease protection in the spring after the leaves appear. It should not be applied to fruit trees after full bud swell. For fruit and vegetable applications, it is best used as a preventive fungicide so it should be applied before the disease is apparent. Thoroughly spray deciduous trees. A slightly blue tint will appear on the bark after application.
- Citrus trees in California get a disease called brown rot. This occurs in the fall and has a black, sooty appearance on the leaves and fruit. To prevent this disease, Liqui-Cop should be applied in the early fall before the rains.
- No. Liqui-Cop is a true liquid compound based on a copper ammonia complex. It is the only true liquid available on the market.
- No. Liqui-Cop is normally used alone without other additives. It can be mixed with oils (like Saf‑T‑Side® Horticultural Oil) to control insect eggs when used on dormant fruit trees or on citrus.
- No. Bordeaux, which is a powder, is a combination of copper sulfate and lime. Liqui-Cop is a true liquid and a completely different chemical compound. It gives the same or better control than Bordeaux.
- Once applied and allowed to dry on the tree, Liqui-Cop is extremely hard to wash off. The gel formulation is intended to prevent water from washing it off. During extremely wet years, however, a second application just before bud swell is recommended.
- Liqui-Cop has no odor, but it does stain. If you get it on a light-colored painted surface, it will probably leave a blue tint. This can be easily removed with household ammonia.
- Liqui-Cop is available in both pint and quart size containers. In some states, Liqui-Cop is available in a quart RTS (Ready-To-Spray) bottle.
