Black Jack® 2172-9-66 All Weather Plastic Roof Cement, 10 Oz

This Black Jack® Plastic Roof Cement is a pliable asphalt roof cement that can be used on damp as well as dry surfaces. Plastic Roof Cement is ideal for many roof repairs and for stopping roof leaks around vent pipes, spouts, valleys, skylights, gutters and chimneys. Use for the construction and repair of flashings, but not on rubber membranes or EPDM roofing systems. It may also be used to seal cracks in exterior chimneys, walls, foundation joints and for lining leaking gutters and troughs. Not paintable.

• Black Jack® 2172 All-Weather Roof Cement is a black asphalt product ideal for sealing, filling and patching cracks and breaks in roofing surfaces, firewalls, chimneys, gutters, flashing, etc., particularly where emergency repairs of wet surfaces must be done. Use this product to repair shingle tabs, flashings, roof seams and gable joints. It can also be used to stop leaks around vent pipes and is suitable for sealing metal building seams, foundations, masonry steps and for repointing chimneys. Black Jack Roof Cement cannot be painted. HOW DO I PREPARE THE SURFACE? Remove dust, dirt and debris using stiff brush or broom. Remove crusted rust or sealed previous coating by scraping or wire brushing.
• Each 10.1 ounce cartridge covers approximately 30 linear feet of 1/4" x 1/4" bead.
• Tools should be cleaned with paint thinner or mineral spirits.
• Cut spout to desired bead size and puncture inner seal. Using a standard caulking gun apply directly over area to be sealed. Black Jack Roof Cement may be tooled with a trowel or putty knife, occasionally dipped in paint thinner. Emergency repairs should be considered temporary and should be reapplied with thorough surface preparation when weather conditions improve. When application is to take place at temperatures below 50°F (10°C), store Black Jack Roof Cement at room temperature 24 hours prior to use in order to make gunning easier. Surfaces may be wet at time of application, but must be free of frost, snow and ice.
