Black Jack® 100% Silicone Roof Coating is formulated to deliver superior waterproofing protection to your roof surface. This rubberized coating, forms a chemical bond to the roof surface which provides incredible adhesion and long term waterproofing protection. This product will also withstand areas that pond water, and will hold up in areas where other coatings will fail. The coating dries to a bright white finish, which keeps roof surfaces cooler and has excellent UV resistance. Finally, this high solids formula is quick setting, low odor and can be applied in a wide range of temperatures.

Preparation:

• All surfaces should be clean. Treat rust with proper primer. If mildew is present, surfaces should be cleaned with a proper bleach solution (one part bleach to 2 parts water). To qualify for warranty, it is necessary to power wash (using a wide spray tip) all surfaces before applying this roof coating. A peel test sample should be done on all roofs to verify proper long term adhesion. Applications to TPO, EPDM and Hypalon require a special process, call for more info. Perform Peel Adhesion Test (ASTM D903-98) before applying to any single ply roofing surface.

Application:

• DO NOT apply if heavy dew or rain is expected within 4 hours. Surface and air temperatures must be between 40 °F and 99 °F. Apply on a clear, dry day with a max humidity level of 70%. Use a quality 3/4”nap paint roller. Make sure the morning dew has completely dried on the roof before applying. Step 1. Clean & dry surface. Step 2. Repair cracks and damaged areas. Step 3. Coat surface.

Coating Application Options:

• The recommended application is for 2 coats, applying each coat at 1 gallon per 100 sq/ft. If one coat application is desired, apply 1 coat at 50 sq/ft per gallon. Finished coverage will be the same, covering 250 sq/ft of roof surface.

Coverage:

• 5 gallons will cover approximately 250 sq/ft of roof.

NOTE: Do not apply to roofs over 110 °F.

Clean-Up:

• Clean tools immediately with mineral spirits.

Precautions:

• For exterior use only. Protect building inlets from product vapors or fumes. DO NOT allow product to freeze. Protective clothing, gloves and eyewear should be used during application of these products. When transporting this product, ensure that lid is tight and pail secure and upright. DO NOT allow pail to tumble as this may cause lid to loosen and leakage to occur. Do not transport on passenger seats or inside the passenger compartment of any vehicle. Store product in the cargo area of vehicle, and secure over protective cloths to prevent damage due to accidental spills. For longest life, store in controlled environment, 45 °F-80 °F. DO NOT store in direct sunlight. DO NOT store at temperatures above 99 °F. Close container after use. DO NOT reuse empty containers. Ponding water creates excessive weight on roofs and may compromise structural integrity leading to a potential collapse hazard. Always follow the National Roofing Contractors Association guidelines to remove ponding water from roof surfaces. Slip Warning: Use extreme caution when walking or working on silicone coated surfaces. Surface is extremely slippery and can create a fall hazard resulting in injury or death. Use OSHA approved fall protection when on roof surfaces.
