Lighting Messinas Mole & Vole Stopper smoke will coat the tunnels with a thin layer of cator oil that creates a sensory barrier that works by smell, taste and feel and can be applied as infrequently as once a season or as needed. • Remove the lid of one generator and light fuse using a match or lighter.
• Once lit, immediately push the generator down the tunnel as far as possible with the lit end pointing into the tunnel away from your hand. If the generator is not immediately placed into the tunnel, the outside of the container will be hot to the touch.
• Smoke will begin to diffuse approximately ten seconds after lighting the fuse. Cover the hole by lightly tamping down the earth. The generator will produce smoke for approximately 40 seconds. Check surrounding area for any sign of smoke leaking out of tunnels. After a few days check to see if the burrows are still active according to one of the two methods described above. If so, repeat treatment.
